We have arrived in A Coruña! Hurrahhh!!!
According to Komoot, the distance from Burela to A Coruña is 138 km with 2,600 m elevation gain. My legs are fine, but I wouldn’t have managed so many meters in altitude with steep climbs. Yesterday evening we tried to find a train or bus from Burela, but unfortunately all the tickets were gone or the connections were not really good. The only way was to find a cab to take us in the direction of A Coruña.
So at 8:30 a.m. we set off with our cab driver Rosa to Ferrol, a larger town in Galicia and 55 km from A Coruña. Rosa was really nice and we chatted a lot in the car.

From Ferrol, we then cycled back to A Coruña. It has to be said that Galicia is not as beautiful as Asturias or the Basque Country. The state has less money and you can see it in the condition of the houses and roads.

From now on, I have to fight. I realize that my body is exhausted after 9 days of cycling and especially my neck makes itself felt 😆 In addition, the weather is moderate today and we have to fight with wind and rain. As a result, I didn’t take many photos today…

But then the goal is in sight: after 9 days of cycling, 563 km and 7,200 m of climbing (including today’s tour), we finally arrive in A Coruña. This is my first big road bike tour and I’m super happy to have done it with Stephan.

Now it’s time for the next two days of sightseeing and drinking lots of beer/Bitterkas Limón as a reward (with so much Bitterkas Limón that I’ve drunk over the last few days, you’d think I’m 40% lemon 😂). On Monday, we head back to San Sebastian by car.

Conclusion of the day today: pain fades, but the memories last forever!
