Today was an exciting day, so hold on to your hats.<\/p>\n\n

Over the last two days we’ve had repeated problems with my gears, but Stephan has always been able to fix them temporarily.<\/p>\n\n

But this morning the time had come: Not even 2km after Santanilla del Mar, the cable for the shift cable broke, so that I could no longer shift gears. That’s pretty stupid when you’re standing in the middle of the mountain \ud83d\ude02 We then called a cab to take us to the nearest bike repair shop.<\/p>\n\n

The bike repair shop was in Torrelavega and very efficient (so if you ever have a problem I can recommend Kronos Bike). The only problem here was that it was again further away from the destination.<\/p>\n\n

We then decided to take a cab to San Vicente de la Baquera. This allowed us to catch up with 30km and set off again from there.<\/p>\n\n

After the lunch break, we had a nice drive along the villages. We crossed many bridges and the view was fantastic. The highlight was a panoramic road from Cotero to Puertas. That’s when you realize how high the mountains are and how deserted the Spanish villages can be.<\/p>\n\n
