Day 4 starts with an early breakfast so that we can set off towards Ribadesella at around 9:00 am. It’s only 30 km there and mostly flat. Worth mentioning here are the Picos de Europa, a trio of mountains that are up to 3000 m high. <\/p>\n\n

After just under 1.5 hours, we arrived in Ribadesella. As Stephan had already been here on vacation with Pilar, he was keen to show me the hotel and the beach where they had stayed. The beach was actually quite full of people, although the weather was only moderate. <\/p>\n\n

From Ribadesella onwards, the mountain climbing began. The meters of altitude had to come from somewhere. But the fact that this would mean several 17% gradients almost sent me to the other side several times. <\/p>\n\n
