A quick update from us in Gij\u00f3n. Today we explored the city, recharged our batteries and went to the beach. With a temperature of 26 degrees, that sounds like a perfect plan. <\/p>\n\n

The water on the beach is very clear. I even discovered a swimming pool (left) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

The old town of Gij\u00f3n is very large with many hidden alleyways and a lot of bars. At 10 o’clock in the morning they are all closed, of course, but in the evening you can find lots of people here. We had a delicious dinner in a small tavern (pimientos al padr\u00f3n, ensalada de tomate, patatas, huevos, jam\u00f3n) <\/p>\n\n

We also visited a small museum that told us about the men and women of Gij\u00f3n. Stephan thought it was really great and I mainly looked at the pictures. <\/p>\n\n

After the museum and a 5 km walk, we were very tired and went back to the hotel for a siesta. As Spaniards, that’s just part of it! <\/p>\n\n

Of course, a rest day also includes a visit to the beach. Floating in the water is very good for you. <\/p>\n\n

The rest day did us good and was necessary. Now we are well prepared for tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n
