This year, I (Ainhoa) decided to leave Stephan at home and head north with my friend Merle.
Our tour begins in Hamburg and takes us through Schleswig-Holstein to the northernmost tip of Germany, then on to Denmark along the coast, and ends in the Danish capital, Copenhagen🇩🇰.
Over the course of 5 days, covering 380 km and 1,200 meters of elevation gain, we’ll be riding uphill on our two road bikes. The forecast calls for plenty of sunshine with temperatures up to 33 degrees, as well as rain showers and wind. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get too hot or too wet🫣

The weekend before that, I came back from Sweden after finishing my master’s degree. That meant quickly digging out all my cycling gear from the boxes, cleaning my bike, and buying some energy bars.

Today, I’ll be taking the ICE from Frankfurt to Hamburg to meet up with Merle. She arrived yesterday to stay with her cousin, who lives near Hamburg. We’ll be spending the first night at her place so that we can set out on the first leg of our trip to Lake Plön on Friday.

Well, that’s it for now. Wish us lots of fun and no flat tires!
